which is more suitable for a warrior? an axe or a sword? plz explain why.

right now i am using victos battle axe with the shield for my warrior

It all depends on what sort of build you want to run. Swords are more suited for sustained DPS, while Axes are more for spike damage, but both have their ups and downs.

I keep several swords as well as several axes and even a couple hammers. Each have their own uses and builds to use them with, so keeping them around and having the freedom to choose between them depending on the task-at-hand is nice. Although I find myself using the sword most often PvP and PvE.

I prefer the axe in PvE due the ability to strike multiple targets, useful when I'm using a zealous or vampyric axe. In PvP though, I like to use a sword because of it's capability to inflict multiple conditions at once.

I prefer to use an axe because its "base condition" (deep wound), works on all enemies in PvE. Whereas, the sword's "base condition" (bleeding), only works on fleshy enemies.

However, in PvP, it becomes a question of which skills you think will work better.

I use a sword because its damage is more constant than an axes without skills. If you use a lot of adrenaline skills this is the way to go I think, if you got a mix of adrenaline and energy skills to "spike" the enemy, then axe is the way to go.
